Good news about travelling to Växjö

tipshallen

A great change to the better is about to take place in relation to air transport to Växjö. Småland Airport and Landvetter Airport in Göteborg will start a new cooperation in September this year.

This means that instead of flying to Copenhagen and take a train for 2-2.5 hours to Växjö it will be possible to fly via Göteborg to Växjö from about 40 places around the world as well as from 10 domestic destinations.

The destinations already decided are:

Dublin, Manchester, BIRMINGHAM, London, N Jylland, Hamburg, Brussels, Paris, Zurich, Lyon, Palma, Malaga, Alicante, Barcelona, Nice, Milano, Rom, Bologna, Athens, Prag, Budapest, Warsaw, TALLINN, Helsinki, Moscow, Oslo.

As before there are straight flights in to Växjö from Berlin and Dusseldorf.

The domestic places are:

Göteborg, Malmö, Norrköping, Örebro, Karlstad, Västerås, Borlänge, Sundsvall, Umeå, Luleå.

This is very interesting for my group as well as other athletes coming to Växjö or flying out of Växjö for meets, training camps etc. As we can see Birmingham and Tallinn are among the cities in this new cooperation that will probably make some people happy.

As there are big plans on building up facilities in Växjö for the next 2-3 years and the community leaders are willing to go far in organizing an international athletic center with possible IAAF certification this even helps it a lot when it gets easier to get here.

Very positive news.
