Niklas started up in USA

Niklas Arrhenius chula vista

Niklas Arrhenius put the shot 18.12m in a meet in Ogden, USA last night.

Niklas did not have the greatest meet as he can throw much farther than that. But he got the first meet done, stayed in the circle and is ready to throw farther at the Swedish Championships next week in Stockholm, Sweden.

This was the first meet for Niklas with the rotational technique in years as he stopped doing that some years ago because of injuries. Niklas has only been throwing for a very short period also as he had two different foot injuries that kept him out from all throwing for months.

We said that we have a goal to throw between 18.29m-19.00m indoors. 18.29m is 60 feet and he is more than capable of doing that. 19m is also good and then it is realistic that he could throw between 19-20m outdoors with much more training.

Leif Arrhenius threw 18.00m yesterday; he has done 18.35m so far this year.

Niklas will fly over today to Stockholm and come here to Växjö on Sunday for a short training camp with Märt Israel as well as the Danish Duo, Kim Christensen and Nick Petersen. It will be fun.
