Great results in Bottnaryd

Niklas Arrhenius had a very good day today at the annual International Throwing Meet in Bottnaryd, Sweden. Niklas had 62.23m in the discus and qualified for the European Championships in Barcelona to be held later this month. Then he followed it with an outdoor PR in the shot with a throw of 19.39m.

There is much more to come from Niklas and it is my honest belief that he can throw 65m in the discus and 20m in the shot this year even his preparation has been strongly influeneced in a negative way with injuries. Niklas is working hard on coming back and this today was just great and really deserved.

 

Märt Israel had another good day with 64.04m to follow up his great throw in Sollentuna of 65.44m two days ago. He has just stepped up one step in his development and the last four meets are 63.87m, 64.83m, 65.44m and 64.04m. It is great for Märt.

 

Kim Christensen threw his best of the year in the shot 19.36m and had farther throws that he fouled. We have been waiting for Kim to hit 20m but so far he has not been competing that well outdoors after a great indoor season with a PR of 19.68m. Kim is better than ever and the plan is to peak at the European Championships in Barcelona. This today was a big step in the right direction towards that goal.

 

Navdeep Dhaliwal had a good meet. Of course as usually the little wind that was out there was against her as she throws with the left arm. But, 49.32m is her best this year and the series were very consistent. Nav is just around the corner of throwing a new PR after getting much better this year in every aspect of training. It will come soon.
